Brown antler is antler that does not have cracks. White or faded antler will be graded as brown if it does not have cracks. We also accept antler that has chew marks or broken tines. 

Hard White antler has micro cracks. The antler can be brown or sunbleached in color. 

Chalk has deep cracks and a rough/flaky feel. Antler that has been treated with a gloss, stain, or paint will be categorized chalk.
